We've assembled the most commonly asked questions about
reCommerce below. If for some reason, you do not see
your question below, please feel free to call our sales
department or email us at
sales@resaleworld.com for any question you might
have. Q.What is Consignor Login?
Consignor Login allows your consignors to login in
to your reCommerce website and check the
transactions from sales of their items that have
been credited to their accounts. It will also show
debits and other charges that are on their account.
You can select within Liberty which consignors will
have access to this information. Consignors will
also be able to see which of their products are
being sold on-line or on eBay.
Q.What is 'Product Catalog' under Plan B
Product Catalog is for stores who want to advertise
what's in their store but who really don't want to
commit to doing ecommerce transactions over the web.
Basically, it's like saying "Hey, here's a bunch of
our current items that we have for sale in our
store. So why don't you stop by and check them out."
This may be perfect for stores who really don't feel
like shipping items or who would just like to
advertise their products to the world.
Q.Is there a limit on how many products I can
have?
No. There is no limit on how many products,
consignors or orders that you can have. You can
upload all your items from Liberty or just a subset.
Q.I've noticed that many ecommerce sites have
pictures for their products. Do I have to take a picture
for every item I want on my site?
Actually, you don't have to take a picture in order
for your item to appear on your website - although
we highly recommend it. If you're really serious
about ecommerce, we suggest you do. Digital
cameras are very inexpensive costing as little as
$149. You can pick up some very good used cameras on
eBay for well under $100. We don't care what camera
you use. Liberty can work with pretty much all of
them.
Q.Can we do online credit card authorizations in our
store?
reCommerce provides many payment options for you to
offer your customers. Authorize.net (for merchants
with internet merchant accounts), PayPal (a free
credit card processing service), Google Checkout
(available in August 2007),
Fax and Phone orders. It's really up to you which
payment processing you would like to have in your
store.
Q.Are all credit card transactions processed
securely?
Yes. We use industry-standard SSL encryption for all
credit card processing. We also use Authorize.net as
our preferred Payment Gateway service.
Q.We don't have a merchant account yet. Can you
help us get one?
Yes, we have a direct working relationship with
Global Payment Systems and Authorize.net to offer
you very competitive rates for your processing
needs. Just fill out the application form and a
representative will work with you to get everything
going.
Q.We already have a merchant account for our
regular business. Can we us that one for reCommerce as
well?
Boy, I wish it was that easy. Unfortunately,
merchant providers treat off-line transactions
completely different than on-line web orders.
Their thinking is that because the transaction does
not take place with someone actually giving you a
physical credit card, then there is a higher chance
of a fraudulent transaction. So what they've done is
to keep the two transactions separate. So the
answer in a nutshell is "No, you can't".
Sorry.
Q.How do I see my orders?
Orders will be downloaded into your Liberty product
whenever you connect to your reCommerce site. They
will look just like regular sales in Liberty except
that you will have to ship them to your customers.
Don't worry, Liberty has many ways for you to print
shipping labels - either by UPS, USPS or FedEx.
Q.Can we accept international orders?
Yes. reCommerce is designed for the world market.
With multilingual, mulitcurrency capabilities all of
our merchants can sell to the rest of the world.
Q.Can we change a store once we've created it?
You can update your site as often as you want, from
wherever you happen to be. We provide many templates
for you to choose from. We can even help you get
your site customized to look any way you want -
within reason.
Q.Does our store have to look the same as all the
others?
We offer many color themes for you to select
from. If you want something really creative, use one
of our preferred site developers to customize your
site however you feel.
Q.How much can we customize our storefront?
Even though we provide over 20 templates to choose
from, stores may go absolutely wild on your site.
Obviously, it costs money to do this. If you
think you really want something different, you can
probably expect to pay around $1,000 - $2,000 for a
custom site. Let us know if that's something you're
interested in and we will try to set you in the
right direction.
Q.Can we get statistics about what is happening in
our store?
reCommerce tracks an incredible amount of
information related to visitors, orders and searches
related to your site. You will be able to look at
this information whenever you feel like it.
Q.Can I transfer my own domain to my reCommerce
site?
Yes. You can point your domain name to your store if
you wish. However, if you already have an extensive
website, you most likely will want to simply link
from your website to your reCommerce store.
Q.Do we need any special hardware or software to use
reCommerce?
For starters, you will need an Internet connection
at your store to upload product and consignor
information and to download orders. We recommend at
least a Cable or DSL connection to get going. The faster the
connection the better. However, it would actually be
possible to use reCommerce with only a dial-up (if
that's all you have and can get). Dial-up isn't very
fast though, so you might not have a *positive Internet
experience without a Cable or DSL connection. =)
Q.Will reCommerce help me to drive traffic to my
site?
Yes. reCommerce has a built-in feed to Google Product
Search (Formally Froogle).
Q.What kind of network connection do you have?
Our webservers are connected to a CISCO Secure 100
base-T network that is BGP4 multi-homed directly to
the internet backbone via redundant, fault-tolerant
T-3's. Whew! That's easy for you to say.
Q.Do you provide support for our reCommerce site?
We stand behind our products and services. Our fast
and effective support team is at your service. We
take good care of our customers. "We're here to help
you." We have been for 15 years!!!
Q.Will my customers see advertisements or any mention
of reCommerce or your company on shopping cart pages?
We will only put a small tagline at the bottom of
the page to indicate that your site is being powered
by reCommerce.
Q.Does anyone else have access to my customer's
information (name, address, email address, phone number,
etc.)?
No. Your customer's information is made available
only to YOU.
Q.How much does reCommerce cost?
We tried very hard to make sure we made reCommerce
very affordable. Monthly costs start as lows as
$19.95/month. You will get a 30 day free trial to
try reCommerce. After that, we will bill you for
whatever plan you selected each month. Visit our
pricing page to get detailed pricing info.
Q.Do you take a percentage of my transactions?
You will be charged credit card transaction fees
(can't get around those). All credit card
transactions are handled through Authorize.net and
Global Payments and you will be subject to the fees
that they charge. Also, if you sign up for
Plan C, we will bill you for 3% of the transaction
amount at the end of each month.
Q.Do we have to sign a contract with reCommerce?
You have to agree to our Terms of Service. That's
about it.
Q.What do I do if I no longer want to use reCommerce?
Just notify our sales department that you would like
to cancel your reCommerce store and we will
immediately take you offline. You may be charged a
cancellation fee by Authorize.net (that's out of our
control) if you have set up a merchant account with
them.
Q.How do we try reCommerce?
You can create an account yourself right now. Just
go to our registration
page. You must have either Liberty4 Consignment,
Liberty4 Trading Assistants or Liberty4 Retail
(coming soon). You can be up and running in just a
few hours. If you have any questions, contact us and
our friendly staff will be happy to help you.
